INDEPENDENCE!

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians:5:1

We celebrate Independence Day on September 15th in our country. This celebration includes parades, civic acts in the schools, and marching band performances. Due to COVID-19, we have not had this celebration for 2 years, but thank God this year will be different. As we celebrate the independence of our countries, God has freed us from the slavery of sin. We should celebrate it every day of our lives. Christ calls us to genuine freedom through His Holy Spirit and this brings us into a very special relationship with Him. Let us celebrate our freedom in Christ!

LA FUENTE

There are a couple of months left for students to finish the school year here in El Salvador, and then they have vacations for 2 and a half months. La Fuente continues to provide help to students in need, so they can finish the school year in the best way possible. The students that are in 9th grade work hard to get good grades so that they can qualify for a high school scholarship. Also, and most importantly, they have spiritual guidance through weekly Bible studies. As La Fuente, our commitment is to God and to the students to build better futures and change lives for the glory of God.

SHORT TERM TEAMS

Unlike the last two years due to the pandemic, we have had few visits from teams willing to work with us in the La Fuente program, and also doing construction work. This year, 2022 has been a great blessing for us, we have had several teams visit us from different parts of the United States and one team from Canada: Rocky Mountain Alliance, Canada. Gospel Alliance, Pittsburg, PA. Simpson University, Redding, CA. LifePoint, Norfolk, NE. First Alliance Church, Franklin, NC. Maranatha Bible Chapel, NY. All the teams have had the opportunity to work with the students of the La Fuente program and share with them their testimonies of how God has saved them, they also shared games, friendship time, and above all, the Word of God. The students have been impacted by listening to the testimonies, but more than that, they have created many friendships that will last a lifetime. As ENVISION El Salvador we would like to invite all of those groups who are interested to have their first experience serving outside their country, and see what God is doing through the program, you are more than welcome!

This year we had the opportunity to have Christie as an intern. Her skills as a music teacher were put to good use for the students of the La Fuente program. The youth had the opportunity to improve their musical skills with her. We hope that next year, we can have more interns who want to grow in their ministerial life and who feel called to serve in that area.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

We would like to encourage you who are feeling the call to ministry to be a missionary and start with us whether it is an internship of 3 months to a year. God is the one who will give the reward. We invite you to join our staff and serve in many areas of our program. This way you will be able to experience firsthand what God is doing in the lives of many young people who need Him. Anyone age 18 and older are welcome to apply! Please feel free to contact our Site Associate, Laura Rodriguez at RodriguezL@weareenvision.com for more information, or check out

the Envision website for information about the site and the application forms at weareenvision.com

PRAYER REQUESTS

The vision of the leadership of ENVISION El Salvador, led by Tony Escalante, is always for the benefit of the young people who need it most. We continue with the remodeling of the intern house to be able to host more teams and interns and to be able to offer all the possible comforts. This is to expand where now the offices are located and where the teams are housed to convert it into a school for high school and benefit more young people with scholarships. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please pray that God will allow us to complete this project this year. You can also donate to this project as well and if you, your family, friends, or people from your church would like to come and help with the construction, YOU ARE WELCOME! Contact Tony Escalante at escalante.nic@gmail.com

The second project would be a food business that would combine our first Envision Coffee Shop and a Sandwich Shop. The vision of this business is to provide work skills to some of the students that are already graduated from high school and need to find a job to help with the support of their household and also hopefully generate income that would benefit our La Fuente projects.

3. Continue praying for the students of the La Fuente programs, for their provision and protection, spiritual, physical, and mental health, and their studies.

4. Pray for the health and safety of the staff.

5. Pray for more groups to come in the 2023 summer. Pray for their health and that God would be leading and preparing their hearts for their ministry when they arrive.

Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink¨ John 7:37
