Seeking God's Will in Everything

Happy May everyone! We have so many pieces of news to share with you all. God has been moving and providing and responding at our site!

Ministries

La Fuente

Last month we were getting ready for the first ever La Fuente retreat. It went very smoothly and we gave the teens many opportunities to accept Christ or to repair their relationship with Him. Join us in praying for the teens who did accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Pray that the Lord would give them the courage to publicly live out their faith, even as their peers and the rest of the world tell them to hide it. Check out a video from the retreat here.

Tony is starting up his guys’ Bible study again on Thursdays. He currently has 3-5 guys interested. Pray that the Lord would use Tony to profoundly speak to these boys’ hearts about God’s word and His plan for His people.

We shared last month that the Lord had provided two new tutors. Andrés and Freddy have been working with us for a few weeks now and they have been a huge help for math class and homework time. Praise God for this blessing!

We recently had our first La Fuente store of the year. The teens had a great time spending their hard-earned La Fuente good behavior “money” on snacks, gadgets, supplies and basic food items for their families. Thank you to those who supplied some of the products we sold! It was a huge blessing to the kids and their families.

Finally, our female intern and residents have started to more intentionally disciple our La Fuente girls as they discover and explore their walk with Christ. Pray for good one-on-one conversations and connections, and that the Lord would soften the girls’ hearts to receive His word and fellowship.

Mavericks

The Mavericks are more than ready for their first game this coming Sunday. The start of the season was delayed a few weeks, but Mario and the girls kept training, growing stronger as a team and as individuals. Pray for safety this Sunday during their first game of the season.

La Fuente FC

La Fuente FC have finally started their new season! Our boys hold a 1-2 record. They had a great start to the season and have struggled the last two games, but they are learning from their mistakes and growing. Because the new league they are competing in is for adults, even Tony was able to get out there and play with the La Fuente teens. Great work boys!

Interns

We are excited to introduce you to Allen Fletcher, who just arrived from Washington last week. Allen will be creating some video content for our site and helping with La Fuente and groups over the next three months.

We have another intern who will be arriving next week named Peter. Please be praying for him as he spends this last week with his family and friends, and as the Lord prepares his heart for ministry. We're excited to meet him!

Finally we are beginning to bid farewell to our intern Brooke, who has been with us for the past year. She has made a huge impact in our ministry through her involvement with the Mavericks and her work on getting the girls Bible study started. She has made countless other contributions, and we are extremely grateful for her service to the site. Join us in praying for her transition back home and for her next steps.

Prayer requests:

  • Continue to pray for the salvation of our teens. As we said, several had made decisions to accept Christ, which is incredible! Pray that the Lord would use us to lead them deeper into their faith and that this fellowship would point other teens to the Father as well.

  • Pray for our girls’ and guys’ Bible studies. Pray that the teens would understand the truth in the Word and that it would seep into every part of their lives.

  • Help us to pray for Laura, who is in the process of applying to come back as a site associate. We pray that God’s favor and wisdom would be upon her and Envision staff as decisions are made, and that God’s will would be done above all else.

  • Pray for groups and interns coming here. We’ve had a couple of groups cancel and we look to God for provide laborers for our site. Pray that God would prepare their hearts and minds to be here with us and that He would go ahead of them and clear the way for Kingdom work.

  • This week we had a visit from a non-profit called Salvador's Hope. There may be a potential partnership in the works. Pray that the Lord would show us His will in this and grant us wisdom as we continue to connect with them.

  • Help us to pray for a couple that is considering coming here as interns or residents. Pray that God would speak to their hearts and give them peace as they make this decision.

  • Finally, help us to pray for a potential new ministry with kids in Apopa that the Mavericks would be involved with. We will be meeting with Pastor Walter this week to visioncast and pray.

As always, thank you for all the love and dedication you pour into this ministry.

With gratitude,

Envision El Salvador
